About Us
associate attorney
Samuel Zimmerman
Samuel Zimmerman is an associate attorney with Fried Law Group LLC, where he focuses on complex estate, trust, and related civil litigation matters. He represents clients in contested estate and fiduciary disputes, bringing a practical, detail-oriented approach to resolving complex and often emotionally charged conflicts.
Before joining the firm, Sam developed a broad civil litigation practice, handling matters involving contract disputes, fiduciary conflicts, and contested probate and guardianship proceedings. His experience managing cases from inception through resolution—including trial-level advocacy— enables him to quickly identify key legal and factual issues and develop litigation strategies focused on achieving efficient and effective results for clients.
In addition to his trial work, Sam has significant appellate experience, having briefed and argued matters before Ohio’s Third and Fifth District Courts of Appeals. This appellate perspective informs his approach to litigation at every stage, helping him analyze cases strategically, preserve critical issues and anticipate challenges that may impact long-term outcomes.
Sam is known for his disciplined preparation, attention to detail and commitment to clear, consistent client communication. He works closely with clients to help them navigate difficult disputes with a steady, thoughtful and solutions-focused approach.
He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he served as a senior editor on the Journal of International Law, an Honors Writing Fellow and a legal extern with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio.
Advocating For Effective
SOLUTIONS IN ESTATE AND TRUST CONFLICTS
At Fried Law Group, a significant aspect of attorney Fried’s practice involves advocating and protecting vulnerable clients, particularly the elderly or those unable to defend themselves, from financial exploitation. He handles cases of undue influence where individuals may have been taken advantage of in the process of estate planning, the creation of beneficiary designation, and challenging trusts and beneficiary designations to protect his clients. He also tackles breach of trust issues such as trustees mismanaging funds or failing to maintain necessary communications, often referred to as “breach of trust.” Not all claims are well founded, and therefore, Mr. Fried also spends a significant portion of his practice defending fiduciaries and unfounded claims of undue influence and lack of capacity.
When dealing with estate litigation, attorney Fried handles complex cases involving high-net-worth families, individuals, and closely help companies. Given the complexity and emotional charge often involved in family inheritance claims, attorney Fried diligently works to create strong, coherent stories or arguments. His goal in doing this is to ensure the case is understandable and persuasive to others, such as judges or juries, especially when there are conflicting versions of events presented by the other side in the dispute.
